Results of the project

The automatic quality control system developed by Yeditek supported Sonar Automotive's capacity to produce very precise sheet metal parts, enabling the effective control of different references.

The system was developed to successfully control the completeness of markings on the parts, their outer contours, hole dimensions, as well as burrs and scratch defects.

A mechanical system was implemented to rotate the parts, creating a dual-sided quality control mechanism.

Defective parts were automatically directed to a quarantine box at the end of the quality control process.

The process of introducing new references to the system was designed to be easily performed by the customer's staff.

Labor savings were achieved by reducing manual inspection, and a significant increase in customer satisfaction was observed thanks to the system established by Yeditek.

Challenge

Sonar Automotive faced challenges in conducting marking control and measurements on both surfaces of sheet metal parts with very precise specifications coming off the production line. The existing systems were not able to meet these needs sufficiently fast and efficiently.

Solution

Yeditek developed a system specifically for Sonar Automotive's needs, capable of controlling and measuring both surfaces of parts, automatically separating defective parts, and reducing the quality control process to 1.5 seconds. This system includes a mechanical rotation mechanism, allowing successful control of both surfaces. The ease with which new references can be added to the system by customer personnel ensured continuity in the quality control process.
